Graduates of engineering studies will have good knowledge of physics, chemistry, informatics and material science, especially in the field of polymer nanomaterials. Program of their studies provides utilisation of the most recent science attainment in their engineering practice. Graduate engineers have ability to select proper nanomaterials for a variety of specific applications. They have also a broad knowledge in methods of forming as well as of investigating of the materials' structure on a nanoscopic level. Apart from good knowledge in the field of preparation and processing of functional and engineering materials and nanomaterials they are familiar with the recycling technologies of used products. Moreover, they are well prepared to utilise vertical applications and electronic data-bases in their work. Graduate engineers will also gain basic skills in human resources management in industry. Graduate students are corroborated to acquire B2 level of fluency in a foreign language (according to Common European Framework of Reference for Languages). They know also foreign terminology related to their specialisation. They are well prepared to continue their education on the second level studies.
The graduates obtain the Bachelor of Engineering Sciences degree of specialization in:
- Polymeric Engineering Materials 
- Functional Nanomaterials
Nanotechnology is an interdisciplinary specialization. The programme of this course allows to obtain general knowledge about engineering of polymer nanomaterials,  synthesis, processing and derivatisation of polymers and polymer nanocomposites applied as engineering or functional polymers, synthesis and preparation of organic and inorganic functional nanomaterials for applications in electronics and medicine. The aim of studies is to prepare widely educated specialists in nanotechnology and nanomaterials.

The minimal requirements for admission to the Bachelor's programmes is a secondary school leaving certificate. 
The admission procedure is based on notes reported in the school leaving certificate.  Mathematics, physics or chemistry and foreign language are taken into the consideration.
 

Educational and professional goals

The aim of studies is to prepare widely educated specialists of functional and engineering materials and nanomaterials. They are well qualified to work in industry, research and in any institution which demands professionally trained engineers. Graduate students are educated to be employeed in: small, medium and large industrial companies, research and development background in industry as well as in university, designing and advisory groups.

Final examination

The final examination consists of two parts: the first - presentation of diploma thesis, the second - answering  questions devoted to the presented diploma thesis and to the whole study. The final result is expressed in words according to the Rules of Study at the Technical University of Lodz and is the sum of three components: 60% of the weighted average of all the grades achieved during the study, 20 % of the grade for the diploma thesis, 20 % of the grade for the final exam.
 

Examination and assessment regulations

Credit for a particular subject is awarded to a student after collecting all partial credits as specified in the course schedule and passing all respective examinations. Credits are awarded and examinations are conveyed according to the Rules for Study at the Technical University of Łódź.
