A graduate has, in comparison with I level studies, a wider knowledge on present chemistry and chemical technology, and is competent in chosen speciality. He or she is also prepared to start research in the studied field, to analyze complex chemical processes and to discuss chemical subjects with experts in other fields. A graduate is able to solve chemical problems utilizing up-to-date analytical methods and instrumentation, should be capable of team work, management and leadership, has also a wider knowledge on environmental protection and balanced development, knows law, ethical and economic rules obligatory in chemical profession, after specialist training if necessary. Has habit of permanent self-education and professional development and is ready to undertake postgraduate studies.

An admission to the second cycle of studies course is for graduates of engineering studies.

Main education aim is preparation of chemistry graduates ready for competition at present and future work market undergoing rapid changes, due to ability of using their knowledge on chemistry and chemical technology. Their knowledge of mathematics, physics and technology (natural and technical sciences) is based on solid and wide basis. and it will allow in future to produce and safely use chemicals and, in particular, wastes, as well as to be active in team work and balanced development promotion. The graduate should know chemical literature, including basic business law. He or she should also know basic technological processes, in particular environment-friendly, as well as be capable of description and interpretation of physiochemical phenomena, performing laboratory work and organizing save and effective working stands.

Final examination

The final examination consists of two parts: the first - presentation of diploma thesis, the second - answering  questions devoted to the presented diploma thesis and to the whole study. The final result is expressed in words according to the Rules of Study at the Technical University of Lodz and is the sum of three components: 60% of the weighted average of all the grades achieved during the study, 20 % of the grade for the diploma thesis, 20 % of the grade for the final exam.
 

Examination and assessment regulations

Credit for a particular subject is awarded to a student after collecting all partial credits as specified in the course schedule and passing all respective examinations. Credits are awarded and examinations are conveyed according to the Rules for Study at the Technical University of Łódź.
