The final examination consists of two parts: the first- presentation of diploma thesis, the second- answering questions devoted to the presented diploma thesis and to the whole study.The final result is expressed in words according to the Rules of Study at the Technical University of Lodz and is the sum of three components: 60% of the weighted average of all the grades achieved during the study, 20% of the grade for the diploma, 20% of the grade for the final exam.

The course in designed for candidates interested in information and communication technologies, who take pleasure in systematic thinking and solving analytical problems. Additional requirements are: creativity, and capability to adjust quickly to innovations.

The minimum requirement to access to this programme is a secondary school leaving certificate. During the admission procedure the results in mathematics, physics or chemistry and foreign language from this certificate are taken into account. The lack of results in physics and chemistry does not preclude a candidate from the qualification, but they receive zero points for these items.

Know-how in Informatics can be applied to almost any area of human activity, i.e. in industry and the service sector, in public administration as well as in teaching and research. 
In practice, computer scientists support the modelling, designing, implementing, assessing, and applying of complex software systems.

Very wide range of II cycle studies not only technical but also general university areas like social or business sciences
Informatics gives good background to futher studies on almost unbounded scope of areas
assuming that university giving the second cycle course does not require special qualifications.

The connection of Informatics background with particular qualifications from II cycle makes the person with high potencial well prepared to face contemporary world.
